Two Cents Worth: Favorite Movie Quote

So I know this is a tough one, but if you had to pick one  favorite movie quote of all time, what would it be?

Mine would have to be a line from Monty Python’s religious farce, Life of Brian.  Brian is addressing a crowd of people who believe him to the messiah, and is trying to explain that not only is he their lord and savior but also that they shouldn’t be sheep and wait for someone to follow.

Brian – “You can think for yourselves!  You are all individuals!”

Crowd (in unison) – “Yes, we are all individuals”

Lone voice – “I’m not!”

It should speak for itself why this is my favorite quote of the movie, and possibly all time.

The second part of the question is what is the most quotable movie you have ever seen?

For me, it’s a firm tie between Anchorman and Monty Python and the Holy Grail.  While I’ve seen Anchorman at least 20 times with friends and quote it the most often in conversation, Monty Python and the Holy Grail is the only movie that I can completely quote from start to finish.

As usual, sound off in the comments below!

I'm a student at the University of Washington Majoring Business. I've always loved movies and my goal is to work on the financial side of the film industry. Until then though, I figure I'll spare my friends from my opinions and shout them from a digital mountaintop for anyone who's interested. After all, if a tree falls in a forest and nobody blogs about it, does it really happen?

    “I’ll be back” — classic.

  2. ckckred says:

“I love the small of napalm in the morning” from Apocalypse Now.

From Risky Business I love “Sometimes you just have to say What the Fuck. What the Fuck brings you freedom. Freedom bring opportunity. Opportunity makes your future.”. Jerry Maguire also with Tom Cruise has many still quoted lines: Show me the money, You Had me at hello, Did you know the human head weighs 5 pounds?

  4. Janet Allen says:

Hello! My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.

It might not be the most profound, but it makes my day every time I hear it.

  6. pgcooper1939 says:

“I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I’ve watched C-beams glitter in the dark near Tanhauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time…like tears in rain.”- Blade Runner

  7. I find myself quoting Anchorman more than any other movie. “I love lamp.” “LOUD NOISES!” “Brick killed a guy.” “I’m kinda a big deal.” “I’m not even mad, that’s impressive.” “You’re so wise, like a little hairy Buddha.” and of course, “60% of the time it works every time.” There are lots of great lines in there.

Lately I find myself quoting Pitch Perfect because it’s “Acca-Awesome!”

Lol, I actually watched Anchorman again last night so I uber-like that choice. Also Pitch Perfect was one of my favorite comedies of last year so I stand by that one as well 😛

  8. Ha ha! Nice choice of a movie quote.
