I’ve never continued one of these before, but I feel that under the circumstances now wouldn’t be too bad of a time to start. This week I was presented with the Dragon’s Loyalty Award (A Combination of the Versatile Blogger Award and the Very Inspiring Blogger Award) by three separate people; Claire from My Reel POV, FilmScoreHunter from The Cinematic Fontier and Mr. Rumsey from Mr. Rumsey’s Film Related Musings. Many of you in the blogging community have probably received awards like this before and know that they’re essentially a list of your favorite bloggers combined with some tidbits of personal information to make the whole thing a bit more informative. These appear to be the rules:
- Display the Award Certificate on your website.
- Announce your win with a post and link to whoever presented your award.
- Present 15 awards to deserving bloggers.
- Drop them a comment to tip them off after you’ve linked them in the post.
- Post 7 interesting things about yourself.
Now I know a lot of the people I’m tagging are on the more experienced side and if they reposted these every time they were awarded them they would be overrun with these sort of posts. Because of that I’m not expecting any of you to pass this on but of course you’re free to if you choose. I just wanted to take the rare chance to give a shout out to some of my favorite bloggers here 🙂
Anyways, on with my seven interesting facts:
1. I am a Junior at the University of Washington studying Finance, hoping to go into the monetary end of the movie industry once I graduate.
2. I own a pet hedgehog; her name is Spiny Norma and her Facebook Page can be found here.
3. I grew up in Walla Walla Washington, home to some of the finest wines and sweet onions in the country (Along with the State Penitentiary).
4. A few years ago, as a de-stressor I took up cross stitching. It gives me a great mindless task to do while I’m watching movies and leads to things like the picture on the right.
5. My biggest fears are heights, needles and open water (The latter of which I blame wholly on seeing Jaws too young).
6. I name every significant product I’ve owned over the last five years or so. This includes my Volvo Daenerys, my laptop Minerva, my Acoustic Electric guitar Ariadne, and my Mosin Nagant Natalia.
7. I’ve spent more on concerts in the last several years than I have on books for school. My latest splurge was Sasquatch Festival this May with Mumford & Sons, Cake, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, The Arctic Monkeys and about 150 other bands.
Now, here are my 15 nominations/winners:
- Fogs’ Movie Reviews
- Fast Film Reviews
- Committed to Celluloid
- Head in a Vice
- Tim the Film Guy
- Rhino’s Horror
- The Cinematic Katzenjammer
- The Cinematic Corner
- Marked Movies
- Terry Malloy’s Pigeon Coop
- FilmHipster
- The Focused Filmographer
- The Bishop Review
- On The Screen Reviews
- PG Cooper’s Movie Reviews
There were definitely more than a few people I couldn’t fit onto the list but you are not forgotten! Big thanks once again to My Reel POV, The Cinematic Frontier and Mr. Rumsey’s Film Related Musings for passing this on to me, I highly encourage you all to check out their sites if you haven’t done so.
LOL… I had forgotten you were a finance major. Pull back, its a trap!! 😀
Thank you very much, kind sir, I’m honored and grateful!
You’re very welcome, and with luck I’ll be able to use my jedi-like accounting skills to bring a little more connection between profitability and quality in whatever end of the business I end up in
The band Cake is from Sacramento, where I live. Despite that, I’ve never seen them in concert. Same with Papa Roach, but I don’t need to see them in concert. XD
I’ve seen Slipknot twice, though. They seem to like Sacramento.
I’ve seen Slipknot once and Papa Roach once, both at larger festivals. I mostly liked their sets because of the crowd energy though, it was insane!
Slipknot gives great shows. The first Slipknot show was at the first Mayhem. They played along with Disturbed, who was just OK. I also saw Five Fingered Death Punch at that show, they were fantastic.
Spiny Norma is awesome!!!
Thanks for the nomination!
Your welcome sir 🙂 and that she is. Unfortunately she’s also nocturnal so I have to keep her in the living room, lol
While I will not be writing on my site my answers (I gave up writing these up) I have to sincerely thank you for the nomination, Andy! Glad to see you getting as much love as you as well, you totally deserve it!
Thank you sir 🙂
Thanks so much Andy! Know that your acknowledgment is truly appreciated!!
Your welcome sir 🙂 Keep up the good work
Very interesting facts about yourself. It’s good getting to know you a little better. I have to say, I’m an instant fan of Spiny Norma!
Thanks a lot for the award, man! I received it two days ago from James as well so not going to do another post but I really appreciate it. Thanks a lot again, man. I’m honored 🙂
How could you not be an instant fan of Spiny, lol. she is incredibly grumpy in real life though, much cuter in picture form
anyways I didn’t really expect anyone to repost or anything, just want to extend the love 😀
We need to hear more about Spiny Norma! 😉
Thanks for the nomination Andy, appreciate it!
Your welcome 🙂 I’ll be sure to keep y’all up to date on Spiny’s comings and goings, lol
I don’t normally continue these on but I’m very greatful for the consideration Andy. Cheers, man! 🙂
Like I said, I don’t usually forward these either but getting it from three people that quickly made me feel like I had an obligation to return the favor 🙂
Thanks 😀
You have a Facebook page for your pet Hedgehog?
Lol, it was more out of “why the hell not?” than anything else. She does have almost 100 friends though
Ha that’s more than my friend 😀
Cheers buddy 🙂
Same to you, you’ve been in this with me since the beginning 😀
Hedgehog!!! Awwwwwwwwwwwww.
